Type 1 Diabetes-About my personal passion
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am deeply passionate about advocating for type 1 diabetes research. I am inspired by my son Brian’s journey with T1D, he was diagnosed at the age of 21 and live with it everyday. I have been actively involved with JDRF (now Breakthrough T1D) since his diagnosis in 2010. In 2023 I became a BreakThrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Research Information Volunteer and now a Mission Impact Volunteer as well as an Arizona BT1D Board Memeber and as such I am able to inform others about the most promising scientific advances in T1D, of which there are many! I am committed to promoting and supporting the groundbreaking research aimed at finding a cure for type 1 diabetes as well as improving the lives of those living with T1D.
